Alabama 63, Jacksonville 49: The Vipers went on a 35-0 run to take the lead after falling behind early. Alabama switched to onside kicks early in the game to force Aaron Garcia to work with a short field. The gamble seemed to work out and the Vipers ended up cruising to victory.
Spokane 68, Utah 34: The only high point for Utah in the game was the kick return game. Utah's Brandon Hampton returned two kickoffs for touchdowns in the first half. However, the Utah offense was not so lucky in the crushing rout by the Spokane Shock.
Tulsa 63, Dallas 59: In what will be the start of a brutal rivalry, the Talons Defensive Rush made plays late to keep them in the game. Sacks and forced fumbles allowed Tulsa to come back from what was at one point a 17 point deficit. Strange Stats: Dallas defeated the Talons in most every offensive category by almost 2:1.
Bossier-Shreveport 73, Orlando 67: Bossier's QB Raymond Philyaw and WR P.J. Berry put on a scoring show in this surprising rout of the Predators. It is hard to tell at this point if Bossier is a really good team or if the Predators are purely bad team.
Players of the Week:
Offensive Player of the Week: P.J. Berry (WR Bossier-Shreveport) 14 Receptions for 201 yards and 6 TDs in Bossier's win over Orlando.
Defensive Player of the Week: John Scott (DL Tulsa) 1.5 Sacks and a recovered fumble for a TD to put Tulsa ahead of Dallas.
